Remember the contact messages that we used to send to the branches (not 'stores'!) ? Well, that's the sort of thing we have in mind to spread the word about the Grocery and Non Foods Buyers' Reunion.
Each of us is still in contact with several former colleagues and so in turn are they. If everyone could pass on the word about the planned reunion we might even manage to gather together over a hundred of us in the Doggett's - it'd be a bit like Friday nights in the 80s!
Maureen and Jill have already gathered together over fifty names, and we're hoping that each of those can pass the word on to at least a couple of others.
The Reunion is now confirmed for the evening of Friday 6th November. The Terrace Bar of the Doggett's has been hired from 6pm and there will also be a buffet from 8pm. To cover the cost of room hire and food there's a proposed payment per person of £10, payable by cheque to Jill in advance.
One thing to bear in mind is that there's a a capacity limit in the Terrace Bar of 120, so this might have to be a 'first come, first served' event. If numbers exceed that we'll have to think about doing it again next year in a larger venue!
